Co-Ed, 10 Minimum, 15 Athlete Maximum per Session
Do you want to be “safe” on a bang-bang offensive play? Join us in this three-session clinic to understand and learn how to get to your top end speed in your first steps on the base path. Getting to your top end speed early will help to improve positive outcomes on the bases. Our instructors will provide information and skill training on the development of 1st step quickness and starting speed techniques utilized to accomplish top end speed early. Student-athletes will learn proper running form, correct body mechanics for quick explosive movements, and proper techniques for acceleration during sprinting. Training exercises will be performed on either artificial turf or sport court surfaces. Athletes can expect to jump and sprint maximally in every session! Athletic shoes or turfs are required, no cleats allowed for this clinic.
Athletes will be timed and tested using our Vald SmartSpeed Plus timing system. Their performances will be added to our Universal Speed Rating which ranks each athlete comparatively to their local, regional and national competition. Ranks and timing scores will be free and available to all athletes and their parents via the USR. This training at the Mavs Facility is in collaboration with DPT and PEAC.
